Ethereum: Is it actually possible to create a “verifiably unspendable” address?

Verifically unjustified address: Can Ethereum achieve this goal?

In recent years, the concept of verifiability of inexplicable addresses (VUA) has gained significant attention among cryptocurrency enthusiasts and researchers. This concept refers to the type of digital address that cannot be issued or changed without disclosing its previous owner, thanks to which theoretically safe against double attacks. While some experts believe that Ethereum has the potential for the implementation of VUA using the combustion evidence (Pob), others claim that this goal may be impossible due to technical restrictions and concerns about scalability.

What is the verifiable address?

The verific address is the Ethereum address that can be used to issue funds without disclosing the identity of the previous owner. To achieve VUAS, the address must meet two conditions:

  • Burn proof : The address was burned (i.e. its balance was reduced) using a specific transaction.

Proof-of Burn Ethereum mechanism

Pobr ethereum has been designed to ensure integrity and invariability of blockchain. The mechanism of evidence of combustion consists in burning the user’s balance by means of a transaction covering the payment of Gwei Gwei Ethereum (Gwei). This payment ensures that the Burn Transaction is not necessary, and when the original owner spends its funds on this address, the consumption of the transaction gas will be verified.

Can Ethereum implement verifically improper addresses?

Theoretically, Ethereum can implement VUAS using the BOK mechanism by:

  • ** The use of a more sophisticated evidence algorithm (JE): researchers have proposed alternative algorithms of POW, such as Byzantine error tolerance (BFT), which can be able to achieve higher safety standards while maintaining Ethereum scalability.

However, there are several challenges to be solved:

* Scalability : VUA may not scale well because of their rely on complex transactions and evidence mechanisms of work.

* Security : Restrictions on the rock algorithm of the POWP algorithm may threaten its general security.

* Interoperability : VUA may require significant changes in the architecture of the Ethereum network, which can be difficult to implement.

XCP solution of contractors

In the White Book of 2020, counterattacks (decentralized organization) proposed an alternative solution using XCP (Ethereum Classic), a blockchain ethereum fork. Their approach consisted of creating a new type of transaction that meets both conditions: proof of burn and failure.

Using non -standard transactions and the algorithm of work proof, they showed that it is really possible to create a VUA on Ethereum using XCP addresses. However, this solution is limited to a specific case of using a contractor fork and may not be easily transferred to other eTHEREUM -based networks.

Application

While Ethereum turned out to be a promise in implementing verifying addresses, significant technical challenges and concerns about scalability before the implementation of such a function should be solved. The development of VUAS on Ethereum will require the cooperation of experts from various fields, including cryptography, computer science and Blockchain engineering.

In the meantime, scientists are still studying alternative solutions using other blockchain platforms or non -standard solutions that can better meet the requirements of verificly unspecified addresses.
